Are you applying for the Artist Alley, but unsure how to present your work properly? The Solanum team is here to help you with your portfolio!
🔸Where should it be?
There are so many different websites that can showcase your portfolio perfectly; just find and use what suits you the best! You can also provide a link to your online shop if you have one. But Google Drive Folder, and Carrd are some of the easiest and most popular options out there. Bonus points for sharing your social media links!
🔸What should it look like?
Your portfolio should consist of your original merchandise. Just upload pictures of your goods that show you best as a creator. If you are an artist who sells stickers, keychains, pins, etc., it is better to have actual pictures of your products, even though mock-ups and designs work just fine. Bonus points for having table setup pictures!
🔸Should it include everything?
As an artist, your selections are constantly changing and growing, so keep your portfolio updated! Add new products, but don’t forget to remove old ones that you no longer sell. You don’t have to include every item in your portfolio either; add things you’re proud of!
These are just a few tips that may help you with your AA portfolio. If you still feel lost, don’t hesitate to take inspiration from other artists’ portfolios just to have a clearer vision of how to present your work!
