📷 Spaces for Rent
Apart from photo studios, there are many spaces you can rent for photography – dance studios, hotels, apartments – anything that fits your character will do. These are perfect controlled spaces where you can set up all your lighting and props to get the exact pictures you want. The rental time is usually limited, so make sure to use it wisely – collect references and prepare all your poses before the photoshoot.
🌱 Nature
A cozy park, beach, flower field, or forest – whatever works best for you. There is a great variety, most of the time it’s free, and you can get beautiful natural light and. The downside is that you have to consider the weather and season depending on the atmosphere you want to achieve in your photos. Make sure to watch the weather forecast closely and plan the date accordingly.
🏠 Old/Historical Buildings
Looking for post-apocalyptic vibes or medieval fantasy settings? This is the perfect type of location for you! Make sure the building is open to the public and that photography is allowed – always contact the location first. DO NOT TRESSPASS!
☕️ Themed Cafes
This is a great choice if you want a cozy vibe for your photoshoot. Some cafes have beautiful drinks and interiors that look amazing in photos. Keep in mind that some places do not allow photography, and others may require a fee. Always contact the location to confirm if you can take photos inside and to arrange the time.

Search for interesting staircases in your city! Since there’s such a huge variety, they can fit many characters and concepts. Plus, because of the different heights, stairs are perfect for photographing a cosband with multiple people. You can experiment with many angles and poses by placing the model and photographer at different levels. Be careful not to trip, especially if you’re wearing heels with your cosplay!
