ARTIST ALLEY TIPS

Are you just starting your journey of selling your own merch at Artist Alley? Today we will show you the main things you might need to start✨

🔶Displays

Obviously the most important thing you need is a place to display your products on – it would make it so much more visible.

You always want to start with something more affordable that you can source locally. There are many options in Ikea and Flying Tiger which you can see on the slides.

The next step however will most likely be the standard and most well known Artist Alley grids. They are extremely versatile, easy to transport and you can personalize them however you want.

🔶Placement

Placement of your merchandise is very important as well, so make sure to be smart about it. Your merch should be organized well – either by categories or fandoms, so customers can instantly spot things they like.

It is always good advice to “rehearse” your display at home to see how everything looks, and even better if you attach everything to the displays prior to the convention, since time for table setup is usually limited.

🔶Important

Advertise yourself! Make sure your name and socials are visible. Make a sign on your display or even a QR code to your socials.

Make sure your price tags are clear and visible, it will be much easier to understand for customers, since some are shy to ask the price

🔶Visual image

The tablecloth can instantly elevate your display, even if it’s a simple monochrome fabric 220×70 or more, so make sure to take one with you.

Decorations – you might not want to invest a lot into decoration in the beginning, but they can for sure elevate your display, so use whatever you have – string lights, fake flowers, plushies. Even better if your table has a color scheme so that you are instantly more recognizable.

Remember, most important is to make a display that works for your own needs and the type of merch you have.🧡
